A good teacher is one who has infinite qualities and abilities, the qualities being in all spheres and abilities like an all-rounder. A teacher should be good and complete in every respect. A good always takes holistic approach towards teaching. The teaching should become obsession with a good teacher. A good teacher must make life of students good and worth-living. A good teacher must teach his students the moral values and inculcate good manners in his students so that they become good citizens. The quality of being a good communicator is a must-have quality for a good teacher. A good teacher acts as a role model for his students. He should be a learner himself. He must use different methods of teaching in the classroom so that the students get to know the subject in detail. He should have a sound understanding of his subject. The should have all the pre-requisites ready with him before delivering the lecture. He should be full of confidence and should also have patience and mastery of his subject. He should always think of changing the ways of teaching so that he gets to know which one is the most effective and fruitful. He should not only with his mind but also with his heart. He must be committed to his work. He should have a thorough knowledge of his subjects and topics. A good teacher should teach the students by keeping himself in the shoes of your students.

Keep their cool: There are times when a teacher wants to scream at the students due to some reason or the other, in such cases you must not lose your temper and maintain your cool. Good teachers handle such situations in a very good way.

Have a sense of humor: It has been shown by research that good teachers have sense of humor and use it in their teaching methods. Humor if used properly can act as a useful tool in teaching.

Are Fair-Minded: They should try to assess students on the basis of their performance rather than on their personal qualities.

Have Common-Sense: They should be able to make decisions to the problems that come on the way. For example taking students on field trips or managing a classroom the teachers should use common-sense.

Have a command of what they teach: The teachers should have a sound knowledge of whatever they subject they teach in. 

Set goals for students and hold students to those goals: If you want to be a good teacher then you must set expectations for your students and try to get expectations met from them.

Are detail oriented: At every point in teaching field a good teacher should be well organized and detail oriented. This will help in building a strong base of the students.

Are good managers of time: Time is the most precious thing with the teachers and teachers learn to use it wisely and profitably. They should try to complete their tasks on time.

Should motivate the students: You should never say anything negative to any student instead try to motivate and this will help in getting the best out of him.
